I could say after 30 years storage manufacturers are finally releasing new better architecture thus giving us chance to take full advantage of dual and quad core processors which were until now more or less waiting for slow hard drives to access and transfer them data.

A few days ago at CeBIT, A-Data launched their first 2,5 inch 512GB high performance SSD. Interestingly their new drive coded XPG boosts read speed of 230MB/s and write speed of 160MB/s thus noticeably outperforming Intel's X25-M in read speed and and just slightly staying behind in write category. Obviously Intel current mainstream performance king is facing steep competition which translates for end-users in lower prices better and more reliable storage solutions.
