How to Disable or Enable Vista Hibernation Mode

Windows Vista features two different modes for conserving power. First one we are more aware of is sleep mode where Windows stores current files and open applications in system memory, providing it only a slight amount of electricity that ram requires, to keep files accessible. Deeper power saving mode can be achieved by enabling hibernation mode which as opposed to sleep mode stores active applications on hard disk drive which does not need any power to keep files online.
Drawback of having hibernation enabled is that your hard drive has to keep reserved area for hiberfil. sys as large as the entire ram capacity. This basically means if you have 4 gigs of ram you shall have additional 4 gigs of occupied space on hard drive. Difference between both power states are so small you can light-heartedly disable hibernation and save yourself additional hard drive space.

To disable hiberfil. sys open cmd and type powercfg -h off. If you want to enable hibernation back once use command powercfg -h on.

Hi 24shans
What exactly do you mean by "frozen". Tell me exactly what you mean, and what you want with laptop, and what is the situation(boot problems etc)...
