There are a lot of possible reasons why internet connection may fail one day. It might be peripheral problems such as damaged wires, non-working switcher, messed up modem, stubborn or improperly configured firewall, dead network card or even problems with ISP. It is not on rear occasions when even routers go on "strike" for a day or two and simply refuse to transmit anything at all no matter how many times you try to reset them.If you tried everything possible and did not find the solution, it might be a good idea to renew TCP/IP settings before you call for technical help. It might solve dead connection.
To do so open command prompt under administrative credentials and type in netsh int ip reset. Now reboot computer and your internet connection might be up and running again. If none of what I mentioned works for you, I think you should turn to your ISP.
