Ultimate Windows Tweaker is another tool among many available for tweaking and tuning Windows Vista. Distinction between Ultimate Windows Tweaker and other similar programs is a variety of additional non-standard options UWT offers over competition. Such options include disabling Windows Mail, Media Center built-in zip features, Movie Maker and much more.

But does it do the job! It certainly does, though another more important question here should probably be: "How much does Vista benefit in terms of responsiveness from those tweaks". The answer is not attractive at all. It does not benefit much. Vista's problem the way I see it is not sluggishness of an entire operating system but rather of Explorer and Windows Desktop Manager. This is best seen when using Windows 7 beta where Explorer and WLM both fly with incredible speed.

I have not been able to find a way to tune up these two most important features regarding responsiveness, though I struggled hard and it seems not even Microsoft is planning to change this in its forthcoming Service Pack 2. 

But apart this Ultimate Windows Tweaker offers an incredibly easy way to manage and tweak Windows Vista. Excellent program worth using.
