Hi MAYU.
I know many users have not tried it but it so not a bad one. If integrates one of the best intrussion prevention programs and it's firewall rates alway among the best 8. And you probably know of Spyware Doctor which this security suit also integrates.
Quite something is not it.
PC Tools IS lacks an context menu for drives and files for scanning.... That's a major drawback... and also if you scan something.. before that scan starts it scans all boot files and what not... so it takes a lot of time before scanning the files we desire to get checked for malware...
I tried it once and thought that its very ancient type... hehe....;)
Yup.. Its firewall is better than that of Eset... ;) :)
Thomas, thank you for this great tip...:)
PC Tools is kinda unpopular at my area...i used to talk with lots of friends & family abt antivirus and few of them ever come out with PC Tools...
@Tejaswi.
I am not sure if I understand you, but IS has context menu. At least I see it? Are you sure you don't have it?
@ Thomas
The last time I used it in one of my cousin's computer.. I did not find it... May be the newer version has it i suppose...
I actually meant that: When you right click on a file you do not find the context "Scan with PC Tools" or "Scan for viruses" of that sort....
@I got you buddy.
Hm...this is strange. Maybe you are right and your cousing had an older version. Current version has a right-click context option for file scanning.
This product seems to be good, it would be more helpful if some more information is provided. The posting has given me some basic ideas of the product. It would help people to take up the product when some more information is provided.
Hi Steven.
What exactly would you like to know more about it? If you read comments above, you will see this app consists of spyware doctor, which you probably know is one of if not the best antispyware program ever designed, than firewall as mentioned is constantly ranked among 8 best available, host intrusion prevention system (part of this suit) received numerous awards and was described by pcmag as "phenomenal", and than there we have also certified antivirus. I can not comment on antispam modul. Now if you would like to know how exactly this security app stacks up against malware I can tell you according to my malware tests it is very reliable and if I had to choose between this security suit or eset and bitdefender, I would choose pc tools internet security. Why? If not because powerful separate tools, than because of Tfire inside, which strikes malwares like bomb squad.
If you want to read a little more about my tests find article about "rising antivirus" on my page. There you will also see short revision of threatfire which is active part of PC tools internet security suit.
To summurize all this... just about every part of this security suit received not just lab certificates but also users approval for highly effective utility. So I do suggest you to grab this licence key while it still lasts. It is like getting kaspersky for free...
Was this helpful?
@Laptop PC
Does not AVG slows down your pc? I heard such rumors, though it has been a long time since I last used it so I do not really know.
No Tomaz, as a matter of fact, im still using it on my old pentium 3 450 Mhz, and it doesnt cause my pc to run slow. so it only means that AVG doesnt take too much memory to run, One thing i like about AVG is that there are no popping messages unlike any other antivirus like kaspersky that has a lots of popping messages that some of the exe files sometimes mistaken to be virus. although i havent tested the the Internet Security yet as you mentioned in your post, so i dont know which is better between the two. but personally, i love AVG.
I am glad it serves you well. I was a little suprised over pentium 3 you are using.This cpu is from the times of the "past". I remember it very well and how much I wanted to have it over celeron in those years. What kind of operating system are you using on it if I may ask and how much ram do you have? Once I tried to run Windows XP on pentium 3 350Mhz and 128 MB of ram, but it refused to install.
Current version has a right-click context option for file scanning.
i have tried all spyware tools around
i find it best for spyware and not a real replace ment for your antivirus
I have not recieved my license code or avanquest can some one help i would like to find out how well it works.
