Changing Windows Icons with Vista Visual Master

One of the things customization fans like to do is changing not just Windows wallpapers and themes but icons as well. In the past replacing icons was a matter of manual work which requested some computer experience but today there is a bunch of programs that can automatically do this for you.

System icons and program icons. To replace program icon use mouse by right-clicking icon you want to replace and choose properties. Choose change icon and now browse to the location of your newly chosen icon. Mind that your new icons have to be in ico format.

For changing system icons we will have to take advantage of proper application. I suggest Vista Visual Master for the job. After running it chose “system icons” on the main interface and follow the same procedure as above. This is it. Restart computer for changes to take effect.
