Free Agnitum Outpost Firewall 2009

Outpost Firewall 2009 is the latest release from well know Russian security company. This time Agnitum programmers brought us even more powerful firewall featuring improved self-protection from termination and advanced host intrusion prevention mechanism. Firewall itself remains top notch according to my tests and comes in free and paid version but surprisingly free version does not lack even one feature of its paid counterpart.

Of course paid version includes antispyware protection and technical support but if you are in the market for a pure firewall, this could be your choice.

Outpost Firewall is highly customizable on both network and host intrusion levels. Main interface provides full control over all features such as Host Protection, Event Viewer and Anti-Leak Control.

Unfortunately this neat application is quite talkative at least in the beginning popping up all kinds of warnings and considerations which would scare away inexperienced users so in my opinion it is more suitable for users with considerable degree of experience regarding HIPS protection. But if you can live with that this is a true bargain.
