I love the utility gadgets - but do any of them offer fixes for slow systems?

None of them offers to fix your system. They only indicate resources utilization... Using quick monitor i was able to find out that spyware was running in the system background and then found out what it was and ended the process. Now the CPU is not used near as much when idle. pretty good list of utilities!
