Microsoft has just announced availability of their first public beta version for Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010. New concept of future Office pack is available for free testing purposes and can be downloaded by anyone right now. To get your free copy of Office 2010 visit Microsoft Office public 2010 Beta dedicated website and follow the procedure.The package itself weights 684 MB and if you are going to opt to install all features, it is going to take you around 3 minutes. When in use Office 2010 is quite modest regarding the system resource usage as WinWord for example takes only slightly over 10 MB of RAM. Not bad for such rich full featured Office document.
There is also no worries for genuine users of previous Office users as you do have an option to keep both version on your machine, although you can expect a bit of interference. In case you decide to go for both make sure you tick the right options in the beginning of installation process, because by default there is confirmed action for deletion of all previous Microsoft Office versions.
User interface doesn't differ that much from what we know from Office 2007, although there are changes of course. But those are not that drastic like we saw when transiting from Office 2003 to 2007 so you shouldn't find it too complicated to use.
