Sleep mode still uses power, although very little. If your computer is in sleep mode and loses the power, all the data will be lost. This is because sleep mode saves your current state into the memory (RAM) and in case the power is lost (battery drained), memory will be deleted.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Hibernation will save your work state on the computer&amp;#39;s hard drive and shut down the computer so no power is needed after that. Or perhaps you have discrete graphics card on your laptop with additional video drivers (ati, nvidia).
